Altro pianista e chitarrista (più pianista) blues abbastanza famoso, in arte detto Pinetop Perkins. Anch'esso musicista blues di vecchia data.
Suonò principalemente nelle zone del Mississipi per tutti gli anni '30 e '40, il suo stile era abbastanza unico. Rimase ferito ad un braccio durante il servizio militare che gli impedì successivamente di suonare pezzi boogie.
Successivamente sostituì anche per un certo periodo Otis Spann che era il pianista di Muddy Waters.
In seguito formò una propria band.
